Curt Hopkins, CEO
In addition to Consilium Ventures, Curt is the Chief Executive of Telenomics and an advisor to The Alacrity Foundation, a start-up incubator focused on telecom, technology and media opportunities.
Prior to Consilium Ventures, Curt led the management buy-in team of Redeem in January 2011 where he was CEO. Redeem is a consumer electronics recycler that extends the lifespan of electronics and provides fully functional used alternatives to consumers around the world. Redeem completed the acquisition of Environmental Mobile Control (emc) in June 2011. Under Curt’s leadership Redeem finished its 2011/12 financial year with record revenue (growth from £20m to £27m) and doubling of profits from £1m to £2m alongside a strong order book. On the back of this strong financial year Redeem was listed in the 2012 Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
Prior to Redeem, Curt was the UK Managing Director of Vodafone Business Services where he was responsible for spearheading Vodafone’s entry into mobile unified communications and business services having led the acquisition of Central Telecom where he served as Chairman.
Previous roles include being the founding CFO of an emerging market telecommunications start-up, Nursat, which grew into the leading Central Asian internet service provider and enterprise network provider. Curt also led the turnaround of Fujitsu’s £150 million UK telecommunications and utilities IT services business unit and subsequently was Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Nortel’s $2bn global services business.
Curt has a Masters of Science from Georgia Tech and lives in Windsor with his wife and two children.
